Safari Brewster has never lived by anyone’s rules; not her parent’s, not a man’s, and damn sure not the state of Michigan’s. When her Jamaican parents came to the US, they bounced around from the east to the west coast, but Safari, being the rule breaker she was, left her parent’s house before the age of seventeen. When she landed in Flint, Michigan, she met Bambi and Charmaine and felt that they needed a role model to help them maneuver through the grimy streets of the north side where anything goes. When Bambi and Charmaine are given the option to roll with Safari’s crazy schemes and master plans, they decide to roll with her, but how far out there are they all willing to go?
