Quit? Never. With a price on my head, the only home I have is the Academy. So. . . NO, I'll never quit. And that makes life tough because the instructors know that, too.

Well, maybe they really are trying to make me into a warrior - because of the crazy tough trials and battles we are constantly assigned.

We learn a lot - it's ugly and raw - and half our squad is killed in the process. Good cadets that didn't need to die.

Then, the Cren invaded the Academy's planet. What were they even thinking. Or, were they gunning for me? They brought an armada of warships, parked them in orbit and like 10,000 soldiers. And no, still not enough guns. Yeah, trust me on that.

And my squad friend Tau with her sniper rifle as tall as she is? She doesn't say much, but can kill from a loooonng way off. Ask me how I KNOW that.

She is Hoganthan like I am, short and feisty. We're part of Yellow Squad and it seems like we've become a target for everyone in the galaxy with a gun and spaceship.

5 Stars – I really enjoyed this second book. Elith is still the somewhat clueless cub, but has grown and learned through her experiences. She enters Warrior training with the Yellow Squad and it is challenging from the start. That pays off when they are attacked during their final cadet exercise and have to deal with the enemy. It's a fun read that moves quickly, but with enough detail that isn't just a series of unconnected actions.

4 Stars - The story continues and enemies become clearer. Estranged from her family and on the run from assassins, Elith uses the lessons learned from her mentor to save herself, at the cost of her friends and associates. Hanging on to her dream with both hands , she presents herself to the Warrior Academy.

5 Stars – Warrior Empress Series. I really enjoyed this series. It kept me intrigued with what was going to happen next. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys SCI-FI.

AI voice killed it for me

story is ok. the ai voice destroyed it for me. choppy, long pauses, flat, skips, and no real variation.

Great AI audiobook

Pleasantly surprised at how far AI has to come. I listened to this book at 2.0x speed. There were pauses but it was easy to ignore with the speed increased.
