Lieutenant Stonewall "Stoney" Langston, top graduate of West Point Military Academy, is put in charge of guiding a wagon train through hostile Indian territory. What should have been a routine mission soon turns disastrous when the wagon train comes under attack by natives. Outnumbered and under armed, men, women and children face certain death at the hands of the Sioux braves and Stoney is forced to make a decision that will change the course of his life.
Filled with regret and consumed by guilt, Stoney is alone as he drifts between cowtowns seeking acceptance and companionship while striving to promote God's Will and serve mankind, but false names and good intentions are not enough to keep the mistake of his past from returning to haunt him.
