As Walter learns more about Lily’s condition and circumstances, the book explores values such as acceptance, understanding, and kindness. Ultimately, Walter learns what makes Lily different but also how to incorporate her into activities with everyone else.
As Walter befriends Lily to help her get used to their new school, we’re able to realize that one good friend can make the world a better place. But Walter is curious to learn more.
