From cover to cover, God's Word warns of a looming judgment and punishment for those who refuse to repent and follow Jesus. The Scriptures clearly state that God is fair and just, and sin must be penalized. Indeed, the Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23 KJV).
Jesus himself gave warning of the impending judgment and punishment, declaring that those who reject him and his teachings will face eternal separation from God in a place of torment known as hell (Matthew 25:46 KJV). The Bible describes hell as a place of agony, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Luke 13:28 KJV). These warnings are not only for the ungodly but more so for those who profess to be Children of God! The Scriptures say that those who have known Christ and refuse to crucify their flesh would be better off never to have known the Lord!
However, the good news is that God doesn't want anyone to perish but desires all to turn from their wicked ways and be saved (2 Peter 3:9 KJV). He sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins, so that we might be pardoned and reconciled to God.
The Bible assures us that if we confess our sins and believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord, we will be saved (Romans 10:9 KJV). Through faith in Jesus, we can receive the gift of eternal life and avoid the impending judgment and punishment.
So let's take heed of God's impending judgment and turn to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. Let's live our lives in obedience to his teachings, so that we may have the assurance of salvation and everlasting life with him.
