An apparently isolated incident triggers an unpredictable effect. The novel is about a group of women, united around a common ideal—their love for reading, in this case, the books of the English writer Virginia Woolf—but which gradually evolves into a different process, where the protagonists become involved in each other's lives, especially those who suffer. Empathy is powerful, because for better or worse, it causes people to get involved and feel part of other people's lives. This is what happens in the parallel story of a group of teenagers who, driven by their pursuit of justice, end up committing criminal acts in order to foster a better world free from violence.
A novel about women written by a man, with enough sensitivity to understand that some problems are transversal and not only about gender. It is the author's second novel, which, with great empathy, delves into the world of those who suffer from gender-based violence, with drama, but also with humor and irony—fundamental aspects of a balanced life.
