Vindicated

Aron is wandering in the world alone. She never met her real parents, and she has a hard time getting close to people, but when she finds out that she has a twin brother that she never met, her whole world comes to a halt. Little did she know that a secret service agent, a noncommital hipster, and a grieving bachelor would help her find out who she is and why her past was kept a secret from her.

Cloak and Dagger

After three months of training under Chief Stone and her uncle, Aron has managed to isolate a memory of a rebel agent that compromised the nation during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ria has became a fighting machine, and Sam has mastered his new job in cyber security. When one of their trainees is captured by an outside force, the group must come together to rescue her. Will they come too late, or will they find out a secret that will bring a downfall on the entire agency? Only time will tell.

A Well Narrated Short Experience

A quick 2 part experience that is not deep but not shallow either. Enjoyed it in a car ride.

Good story but Poor Narration

The story was pretty good. It felt like there were a couple of unnecessary characters added in for the second story and then the story line felt like it completely shifted and an entirely new villain emerged with the original one just disappearing. The narration was severely lacking. There was no depth to the narration and no discernible changes to identify any one character over another which made it hard to follow at times. I noticed during the second half that the word compromise was incorrectly pronounced as com-promise multiple times. I think the poor narration took away from the story.

Really enjoyed the story and the characters...really great listen and enjoyed throughout give it a try

I loved the storyline.

These were well written. I love how the characters changed as the story went on. it made it more realistic. I loved the premise of the story as well. oh and the ending..... what a shocker, I did not expect that. A word of advice... speed up the narrator just a tad to keep the story flowing better.

Mystery of dark matter

This book will take you in and almost think about where you will end up and then the story goes to an unexpected moment.

Not Great

There are several things that ultimately led me to not finish. I listened to the entire first book and the story was somehow both bland and wildly unbelievable. Many parts are unnecessarily spoon fed to the listener, while the more questionable pieces of the plot are just to be accepted. It felt as if it were trying to be both more and less fictional all at once, coupled with some occasionally awkward writing (calling ethnically foreign US agents, foreign agents led me to misunderstand a key plot point). In all, I would say the writing is something I am typically willing to let slide for an audiobook to get me through a long drive.

The narrator, however, I can't let go of. She frequently mispronounces common words or changes her enunciation of the same word with a jarring lack of consistency in cadence. It felt like sometimes there were jump cuts between sentences and sometimes she would just stop in the middle of a sentence for no apparent reason. Overall it was an experience that I can't recommend.

Interesting Premise That Falls A Bit Short

Without giving anything away, there is certainly an interesting premise at the heart of these two books, but it falls a bit short of being a fully developed story. The characters themselves are positioned to be interesting and dynamic, but often seem more like caricatures of a certain archetype, responding in predictable ways. The ending was interesting and with some work this could be much improved, but as it is there are moments that seem convenient, ill-conceived, or too simplistic. More fully developed characters and tightening up the plot would work wonders to enhance this story. It might get it some more meat, which it could use.

It was honestly difficult to get past the poor narration, as there wasn't much dynamism or differentiation between the various characters and the production quality itself was at times distracting, with many whistles and instance of lip-smacking occurring fairly frequently throughout the book.
