The word 'Veda' is developed from the Sanskrit root word verb, 'vid,' with meaning in English 'to know.' Hence Vedas is a book or text that contains all one needs 'to know' to live successfully. The Vedas are therefore known as the 'book of knowledge.' The Vedas consist of Mantras or Veda Mantras. The Vedas, the 'revealed texts' of antique origins of 6000 BCE or earlier, discuss topics related to the well-being of the whole world.
