Emma Walker has it all: a breathtaking home on the cliffs of Blackwater Harbor, a brilliant and devoted neurosurgeon husband named Alex, and a precocious four-year-old daughter. But Emma also has a void where her past should be.

As Emma’s medication dosages increase, so do the flashes of a life that contradicts Alex’s carefully curated narrative—memories of a forbidden love, a dangerous investigation, and a woman who wasn’t afraid of the dark.

When Emma discovers a hidden camera in her bedroom and a cache of letters she doesn’t remember writing, she realizes her perfect marriage is a perfect prison. To save herself and her daughter, Emma must reconstruct the woman she used to be. But the closer she gets to the truth, the more dangerous the lie becomes.

In this twisted game of cat and mouse, Emma must decide what terrifies her more: the husband who loves her to death, or the stranger staring back at her in the mirror.
