"Vanished in the Wild: Mysteries of the National Parks" is an enthralling exploration into the shadowy realms of America's beloved national parks, where the line between the natural and the supernatural blurs. This captivating book delves into a series of enigmatic disappearances, weaving together local legends, cryptid sightings, and supernatural theories to create a tapestry of intrigue and mystery. Each chapter takes readers on a journey through the dense forests of the Pacific Northwest, the misty peaks of the Great Smokies, and beyond, uncovering tales of spectral figures, ancient spirits, and otherworldly encounters that have become part of the folklore ingrained in these wild places. From the unexplained vanishings of hikers to the mysterious phenomena reported by park visitors, "Vanished in the Wild" invites readers to step into a world of awe and wonder, challenging the boundaries of belief and igniting the imagination. This book is a must-read for anyone fascinated by the mysteries of the wilderness and the untold stories that linger in the depths of America's national parks. There is no research or in depth analysis on anything. No history. No interviews or quoted accounts. Nothing. This author doesn't even go into any sort of background at all. Each 'case' has an introduction of purple prose about the area and how its a mystery what happened, the formula going something like this: it was blahblah park, blahblah time, soandso went missing, more purple prose about the park beauty, 'whispers' it could be supernatural, 1-2 sentences about creature, then ending with a cautionary 'the outdoors are dangerous.'

The ghost chapter was silly and even more vague.

The A.I. narrator was not great either. monotone and mispronouncing names left and right.

I wouldn't even reccomend this for those who want bite sized stories, as no story actually gets told.
