It was interesting to learn that the vagus nerve helps to relieve stress, regulate digestion, and also improves sleep. Surprisingly, simple things like mindful breathing, humming, and a splash of cold water on your face can help to reset the vagus nerve. This audiobook also noted that the techniques help to strengthen the immune system which is great since cold and flu season is here. I stress very easily so I tried the breathing techniques and I could feel the tension in my body melt away in those moments. Will keep practicing the mindful breathing.
