V.O.I.C.E. is the sequel to Woman Ex, a story inspired by the global #metoo movement – where women were speaking up about the abuses and injustices they endured at the hands of a patriarchal culture.

V.O.I.C.E. picks up years later, in the wake of a revolution which has restored balance to the world, and a period where space exploration is once again prioritized and the first research outposts have been established on Mars. One of those outposts, the Mars One Base, discovers an alien artifact hidden deep in a ravine, and what ensues is a thrilling and nail-biting ride, sparking a global event as one of the astronauts, Jacob Dekker, makes First Contact - which starts a domino-effect back on Earth, one that challenges ALL the paradigms about our existence.

"I don’t often read science fiction novels. I enjoyed this new release by Real Laplaine, a sequel to Woman Ex. It is well written. To my untutored mind, the science aspect is rendered in a believable manner. The story centers on a young specialist and his partner on a mission on Mars which goes badly wrong, seemingly placing the life of his partner at risk. This leads to a mysterious message from space. I don’t want to offer any other details as those would include spoilers. I just found it refreshing to read a story that offers an element of hope, something we need badly these days."

The concept that there might be an intelligent life form in some far away galaxy attempting to connect with Planet Earth is food for thought.
