Very enlightening!

As mentioned in the book itself, I am familiar with the images that were talked about in the book but I knew nothing of the caricatures creators. It was really enjoyable to hear about Gillray, Rowlandson and Cruikshank and their impact on Georgian society.

Liked it all the subject is so interesting and forgotten I am pleased to see it presented.

Surprise and satisfaction!

Alice did a fantastic job of bringing this little-known aspect of history to light. As an American, I greatly appreciate her tenacity in illustrating the vital role of satire as a social influence, aside from its social and comedic benefits. The Satirists

Entertaining and informative look at the age of the satirists with a special appreciation for James Gillray, as well as Thomas Rowlandson and George Cruikshank. The author makes the point that they do not get the attention or recognition they deserve despite their societal importance. Napoleon said Gillray did more damage to him than a dozen generals.

Love her storytelling

Interesting storytelling. Brings her characters to life for me.
Her attention to detail gave me new appreciation of printing techniques.
Eager for her next book.
