An Autobiography of the Imposter

Imposter Syndrome has affected me all of my life. Of all of the several books on the subject, none have told the story of Imposter Syndrome as autobiography -- until now. This is a story of the Imposter as revealed over six decades throughout my life – how I have experienced it, how it began, how it affected my relationships and work, how I came to identify it, its negative and unhealthy impact on my life, its subversive nature and, ultimately, how I have managed to conquer it. People struggling with imposterism often confuse the burden with its symptoms. We can mistake naturally occurring emotions and problems -- anxiety, nervousness, lack of confidence, depression, etc. -- as imposterism. It is something more. Imposterism is about irrationally and often pathologically expecting failure even as we succeed. This book is about a psychological and emotional problem and how I now overcome this problem every day – and how you can too.
