When the mask comes off 🥀

I really liked the dual narration and multiple POV’s. Received an eARC of this book but I also purchased a physical copy and purchased this audiobook as well. Yes it’s almost 500 pages and no I am not complaining!

This felt like I was reading/listening to magic realism because of its unique magic system. It also felt like a Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast reimagining but the male main character Silas is an actual shadow daddy. It also reminded me of a mixture of Pride and Prejudice and the Handmade’s Tale. Overall it was a a really unique story and it had a plot and plot twist that I really liked. In the beginning, I could not stand the main characters. I could not stand how helpless Arianna was or what an ass*le Silas was to her. Treating her feelings as if her heart was a yo-yo. But that changed and they both grew on me and now I need to know more about them! As for the other characters, I loved to love them or I loved to hate them. The story took quite a bit to pick up but once it did I burned through it. I actually lost sleep trying to finish the last 24 chapters 🥹 Overall, I really did enjoy this story and I am looking forward to continuing on with the series novella and book 2!

Can you fall more in love with the book

I received an ARC copy of Unmasking the Curse back when it was first released and I could not put it down. Since then I have hoped for this audiobook abd my wish came to life. This audiobook pulls you even deeper into the story and allows you to walk along side the characters as the story progresses. I absoulutely love this book and plan to listen to it again later this year.
