Dean Nydecker was just a middle aged unemployed nerd when he was recruited by an interdimensional group called Universal Maintenance to keep the Multiverse from falling apart.

Genetically optimized, his brain full of artificially inducted, extremely useful skills, and loaded up with advanced tech weapons and gear, Dean successfully completed his first mission -- the recovery of another agent's ka-pod, the little device implanted in all UM agent's brains that stores their soul, in case of death.

But there was much more going on in the Multiverse, and within Universal Maintenance, than Dean understood, and powerful forces conspired to keep him in the dark. His memory forcibly suppressed by his superiors, his very thoughts monitored and tampered with, Dean was unwittingly caught up in a deadly web of otherworldly office politics.

With the help of some friends and in spite of formidable opposition, Dean has recovered his memories and now, finally, knows the truth about his origins and identity. Yet before he can confront his enemies, the entire Multiverse of Worlds comes crashing down in pieces all around him.

Can Dean Nydecker, Universal Agent, save himself, his friends, and all of existence itself, from ravening chaos? Or is inevitable entropic collapse simply an unavoidable aspect of UNIVERSAL LAW?
