Understanding your Christianity, your beliefs, and your faith is absolutely necessary to explain it to others, and sometimes it is necessary just to maintain one's own faith. It seems that every point one makes raises more questions. For example, you might get questions such as: Why you are a Christian? Why should I believe in Jesus Christ? What difference does it make? The questions could be endless. A simple answer could lead to more questions, such as: So what? What do you mean Jesus saves? Saves from what? Who was this Jesus Christ? What do you mean he died to save me from my sins? Why would anyone do that or believe that? Do you really believe that Jesus died and came back to life?
The main purpose of this book is to prepare you to have the answers for yourself and others.
It is not enough to be familiar with this subject or even have a substantial amount of knowledge about the Bible and Christianity. The level of learning necessary to keep your own faith and to grow as a Christian, and certainly to explain it to others, is understanding.
