Resumen del Editor

Adapted from Emmanuel Acho's New York Times best seller Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man, comes an essential young listeners edition aimed at opening a dialogue about systemic racism with our youngest generation.

Young people have the power to affect sweeping change, and the key to mending the racial divide in America lies in giving them the tools to ask honest questions and take in the difficult answers.

Approaching every awkward, taboo, and uncomfortable question with openness and patience, Emmanuel Acho connects his own experience with race and racism - from attending majority-white prep schools to his time in the NFL playing on majority-black football teams - to insightful lessons in black history and black culture.

Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Boy is just one way young listeners can begin to short circuit racism within their own lives and communities.

Stellar Performance!

The performance by Landon Woodson made this uncomfortable conversation palatable. I'm going to pass this book on to my 13 year old son. Very informative and enlightening, even as a Black woman, there were issues addressed that gave me pause. My favorite was the bonus track at the end.
Job well done to both Emmanuel Acho and Landon Woodson.

Thank you

This book was well-written and digestable to anyone willing to hear and listen to our plight in these United States. I am super appreciative to the discussion about our hair. My hair is pride, crown of honor, and the part of me that is closest to Heaven.

Just Wow!

Amazing writing by Emmanuel Acho and narration by Landon Woodson! This is a definite must read/listen for all ages and nationalities. I'm Filipino with half black sons and I will be passing this on to them to better educate them with everything going on around the world and learning the history.

For your middle schooler!

This book was a wonderful introduction for white preteens and young teens learning how to be allies. An important read for anyone but very helpful for white kids that are starting to access black culture for “entertainment”-it gives context and boundaries that are important for white people to be aware of in order to prevent the perpetuation of harm and trauma on black people.
