Resumen del Editor

In 1282, David and his sister Anna crashed through time to save the life of their father, the last Prince of Wales. Thirteen years later, David is a grown man - husband, father, and high king of Britain. He is also the Duke of Aquitaine, a fact which King Philip of France appears to resent.

So, when Philip summons David to Paris to bend the knee for the right to remain Aquitaine's duke, David is the first to suspect treachery. And when he learns Philip is taking advice from Guillaume de Nogaret, mastermind behind the annihilation of the Templars, the expulsion of the Jewish community from France, and the assassination of the pope, he's sure of it.

With not only Aquitaine on the line, but all of Europe, as well, David must call upon 800 years of history only he knows to ensure Avalon's past doesn't become Earth Two's future.

Unbroken in Time will be followed by Outcasts in Time.

Not sure about this narrator.

I understand that we lost Laurel Schroeder as the narrator for the After Cilmeri series of books. While her reading sometimes got on my nerves, because she was a little overdramatic at times when it didn't really fit with the scene, and I really tired of the vocal fry when her voice would just fade away at the end of sentences. That was my biggest pet peeve with her reading. But I did enjoy her voices and her accents.
This new reader / narrator whose name I can't remember, she reads well for the most part, though she's a little bit choppy. But I really, really, really, do not enjoy her voices or her accents.
She makes all the British people sound the same. The men sound the same as the women, they all have basically the same accent. Whereas Laurel Schroeder made every accent distinctive. And she made the men sound like men, as well as she could. This narrator doesn't do that.
So now I'm thinking, that I just miss Laurel Schroeder's reading, despite her vocal fry. As far as I can tell the rest of the series is read by this new person. And I'm kind of sorry about that.
The story is really good. I read it on my Kindle first.
I feel like this reader is mostly trying to show off her French pronunciation and everyone says the French names the exact same way with an extreme French accent, and I just don't feel like that's very believable. The American people wouldn't pronounce it the same way as the English people who wouldn't pronounce it the same way as the French people etc. And the name Nohoray, which (I don't even know how that's spelled) she pronounces so harshly, is repeated a thousand times in this book. I found that annoying.

Great series

The author has maintained the quality of the series despite the number of books. It’s always difficult to listen to a new narrator when you’ve fixed the previous narrator’s interpretations of the characters in your mind but this reader is excellent as well.

Loved the new narrator

I've been listening to the whole series and am used to Laurel S but something happened around Outposts in Time (I found myself not quite happy with the narration and ended up returning it). The next one wasn't that great either. So, even though it was a surprise to have a new narrator, I felt like it might be a good change. Well, this narrator certainly did a great job with this one. I loved various accents of all these different characters. Really enjoyed the narration.

Storywise, what can I say. I am at this point an avid fan! I am totally mesmerized by each story in this series. I've been doing a re-read (and a re-listen) of the entire series and it's a lot of fun. This end in a soft cliff hanger and it's tied up very well in next book. Though I wish the next book is longer.

Wonderful!!

As with all the books in the series, Unbroken in Time transports me to another time and place, effortlessly weaving fact and fiction into a beautiful and captivating storyline. The narrator brings the characters to life, each one unique and exciting. The accents were amazing, I have never listened to a book with so many amazing accents and I’m obsessed!! I felt like I was there, strolling along the streets of Paris and Aberystwyth! I listened to the book straight through this weekend, couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for the next one!

Great story, terrible narrator

Love all of Sarah's books, but this narrator is awful. Highly recommend reading the actual book.

Interesting story terrible narrator

The store is another bright spot in Sarah Woodbury’s series of great stories but the narrator that was picked to present the story is terrible! Her accent and voice grates, all of her voices sound the same and worse of all her narration brings the overall ratings of this audiobook down to only 2 stars! Audiobook needs to re-record this book with a different narrator! I have the book & have read this story before but with getting old I am moving to replacing my books with audiobooks but this narrator’s voice and presentation is so bad that I couldn’t listen to more than a few pages & I will be asking Audible to exchange this recording for another one! It is that BAD!

I would have given her a star rating of zero, if possible! It’s that bad!
