San Paschal, 1982: Ren Withers is a man living between the cracks. As a typewriter repairman in a world turning toward microcomputers, he’s a relic in his own time, struggling to pay rent on a shop that shouldn't exist. When he meets Vonnie, a punk-rock photojournalist with a penchant for undeveloped film and danger, he thinks his luck might finally be changing. What begins as a simple sale to an eccentric writer spirals into a conspiracy involving corrupt cops, underworld pimps, and a landlord who might just be the physical embodiment of the Grim Reaper. Ren is forced to trade his tools for a "side job" as a courier for the city's elite, only to discover that the typewriter he sold has the power to manifest whatever is typed on its keys. As Antonio Marino types his way to fame, he leaves a trail of supernatural "coincidences" that threaten to tear the fabric of reality apart.
