Something she saw beyond the veil attacked her childhood friends. Has it finally come back for her?
Voice actor on the best selling “Fallout” video game series (New Vegas, 76) and now #1 rated Amazon Prime TV show, Lora Cain’s paranormal urban fantasy “Twin Lakes” is first in a series. It's a captivating young adult mystery, Southern romance, suspense and dark thriller set in the 80's that "Stranger Things" fans will love.
Growing up in Florida, Diana Kress was always weird. She talked to her dead relatives, even saw into other worlds. But she never thought she was dangerous. That all changed in 7th grade when something supernatural attacked her and her friends in the woods at Twin Lakes, killing them and leaving her scarred for life. With no answers, she blamed herself for their deaths and so did everyone else, including the police. But they couldn’t prove anything.
Six years later, Diana is a senior and a high school radio DJ still struggling to control her strange powers. She finally finds some happiness when she meets a handsome stranger... until people around her begin to disappear. Now the police are demanding answers. This time, she knows she’s the only one who can stop the horror of Twin Lakes from happening all over again.

I think a good target audience for this book, the first in a multi-book series, would be those of us who are (or were) teenage misfits, fans of 80s music, used-to-be kids who played in the swamp. and lovers of classic Stephen King flicks.
Cain narrated the novel herself, complete with an appropriate south Florida accent for her main character, Diana, but also with excellent additional distinctive voices for the many other colorful characters in her story line.
I encourage other readers to check out this wonderful new novel. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series to drop!
