Sorry, but I was expecting so much more

This has been a very difficult review to write as, although I enjoyed the overall story and idea of the Execution Underground Team, there were (for me anyway) quite a few negative points too. When a book is good you can gush but when it's just 'fair' then it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what's wrong or missing. However, I'll give you my thoughts.

The negatives - I was expecting a tight BDB type group of Hunters (J.R.Ward) but there was a lot of bickering, anger and falling out between them. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit YA at times (although the sexual content certainly wasn't) and Frankie was supposed to be the Alpha in her pack but she was so insecure and shyly didn't know what to say to Jace half the time. I couldn't really connect with either the H/H as they were either having the hots for each other or arguing and falling out - plenty of lust but not really romantic.

Slow narration.

Worth a credit? Mmmmm a difficult question, despite the negatives it was an entertaining, hot, climatic, murder mystery paranormal romance with a twist or two and, IMHO, I think this series could grow to become a worthy series so I may give the next book a try then decide (sorry).

I enjoyed the story but the person doing the narration made it very difficult to listen.

Fantastic smut

I am in love with the Execution Underground series and Kait Ballenger after reading this and the short prequel. Kait writes fantastic, realistic and mouthwatering sex scenes. While she flirts with some tropes, she manages to keep it fresh and fun. I appreciate that the characters struggle with internal and external conflict and that there is no big budget solution to the problem. I only regret there are no audio books for the rest of the series yet. I need more!!

This PNR was my first experience with Kait Ballenger’s writing. I enjoyed her storytelling and the book. Unfortunately though I had guessed the big reveal before the “cat” was let out of the bag.

I wasn’t overly impressed with the performance that Kim McKean gave. I found her to have a few too many pronunciation mistakes. I also thought that her timing off at times giving her presentation inconsistency.

Great book great audio

Love it however no more audio after this book very sad I would of love more of her!
