I LOVED THIS!

I received a free copy of this audiobook by the author for an honest review.

While I can't say I've read or listened to many stories that were described as being in the horror or scary genres, these stories were Wow! I loved them! It might not have been a good idea to listen to them prior to going to sleep, but I did it! And because my imagination started getting the best of me, I was up for a long time, constantly scanning my room for monsters. LOL They made me think of the Scary Stories series that I read as a kid, only this batch is for the adults. Did I say I loved them? I think my favorite story was "Scratches." That was a scary one because I couldn't imagine hearing strange noises coming from inside a wall, only to stick my head in and be confronted with... Scariness!

The narrator did a great job! I'm thinking narrators with accents help bring the scariness of a story out as opposed to a regular American speaker. I don't know, something about an English accent (that's what the narrator had, right?) just added to the stories. For example, when he talked as the little girl in "Tunnels." OMG! He was giving me the creeps with that voice, especially when she was calling out for her mommy.

I would definitely recommend this batch of stories to anyone and everyone I know...that loves scary stuff.

Don't listen to alone

I was dumb and listened to these short stories while I was alone at work! Dumb! I kept looking over my shoulder. It make me jump! Get scary stories!!

Surprisingly good, and by “good” I mean SPOOKY

I enjoyed that all the short stories were imaginative and unique...and most importantly...SPOOKY D00KIE!

An awesome collection of gruesome horror

From gruesome murders to an absolutely horrifying ghost story, this title will keep you constantly on edge as you never know what to expect next or the twist right around the corner. Although I do have to admit that my favorite was the last tale in this cool collection, a ghostly tale regarding one of those ghost walks, in this case at a supposedly haunted fort. It will leave you with absolutely no desire to attend one, much less leave the safety of your bed(I really need to quit listening to these at night) until the sun has once again risen. Definitely one that you will enjoy listening to again & again.

Glad that I listened to this during the daytime! Scary short stories that make you jump and look over your shoulder. I enjoyed these stories a lot. Glad that I found this author. I received this for free for an honest review.

Scary and Creepy Short Stories

This book has some of the scariest short stories I have read/listened to. It has all the elements of creepiness - murders, ghosts, haunted places, etc.

The narrator did a really great job scaring the s--t out of me!

One piece of advice to those who are going to listen to this book - do it at daytime!

More quirky horror from PJ Blakey-Novis

Got some time to kill? I basically listened to this in the space of a couple of hours this morning. It may be short, but the stories are fun, creepy and bizarre enough to whet your appetite. This is the second anthology I've read by this author (Embrace the Darkness), and I think I preferred this one, although both were great. In this sextet, I'm not sure whether the trick-or-treaters or the ghost hunters was my favourite, but all six were highly entertaining.

The narrator, too, was bang on, adding a lot of character to the, eh, characters. I'll have to check out the PJ's full length stuff to see if the author can match this over the course of a few hundred pages.

Good Stories

I liked the stories and the not always happy endings.

There was some technical difficulties with the narration of the first stories. Background noise, clicks, etc.

Overall I would recommend this!

I thought this was a pretty good selection of short horror stories, and I really liked the male narrator! Not over the top great, but definitely enjoyable for those who enjoy the horror genre, and I would recommend it!! ☺️

Tunnels review

This is the second book of short stories by the author I listened to, and again wasn't disappointed. Five stars and worth the time.
