Jay Snyder show become familiar with nomenclatures

The story over all was okay. I like this series so I liked this book. I would listen to it again hands down.

My only real complaint is Jay Snyder. He reads really well, has a wild and accurate range of accents and makes genders believable. My issue is he doesn't seem to have a strong grasp on military nomenclatures. Deweys 1911A1 is once again used but instead of saying "19 11 A1", Snyder said "1-9-1-1-A-1" throughout the book. It was like nails on a chalk board to me. There were other things as well but that one stuck out.

Fast paced and quintessential Andreas

The story had multiple parts playing out simultaneously which Coes pieces together masterfully. The plot line is as spellbinding, if not more so than Iran having a nuke, or blowing up NYC. A new character is introduced that I suspect will appear in future.

I did not enjoy the narrator's performance. Maybe just because I became so used to the previous narrator's ability to differentiate character voices.

Coes blends an even balance of providing only as much backstory as is absolutely necessary to allow a reader who hasn't read the previous books in the series to be up to speed. Unlike Daniel Silvia's recent books where he uses backstory as filler to create a very thin new episode. Keep it up Ben.

Another Great One

Another very fast read by Coes. Suspenseful and captivating like usual. Will say the performance was nothing like Peter Herman. Please go back to him next time.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing listen (book #7)

Every reason why Trap the Devil is a disappointment has already been addressed in myriad previous reviews. Nonetheless, there's one poignant fact to consider: The vast majority of negative reviews were written by dedicated fans of Ben Coes and his Dewey Andreas series... Trust them.

Would you listen to Trap the Devil again? Why?

I love the action thrillers in the mode of Tom Clancy and Ben Coes delivers.

Good read but not as good as last two Dewey novels

I look forward to Ben Coes Dewey Andreas novels. The last two books have been the best books of each summer. While this book is a better read than most of the books I listen to, I can't say it's going to be the best book of the summer.

Not sure why the narrator was changed from Peter Hermann, it really takes something away from the series. You get so used to having Dewey, Daisy, etc sounding a certain way, and then it changes. Jay Snyder did a good job, I just didn't appreciate the change.

Exciting

I could not stop listening. Also, very well read and produced. I recommend this Audible.

One of best of the series

Predictable but developed well enough to keep attention. Looking forward to the next in the series.
