Casey, a professional chef, meets the famous chef, Rodney Finch, who becomes a father figure to her while she is trying to juggle her career and her relationship with her boyfriend. Erika, a small business owner, thinks she has the perfect life after her divorce, but when the new chef in town encroaches on her friendship with her best friend, she can't stand it.

In the end, Casey and Erika find out they are made for each other. But the new government tries to tear them apart.

Deep, insightful, great characters

While very different from my own life experience, the characters truly came alive on each page, and throughout each chapter. I felt as if I knew the two main characters as friends by the end and would like to know what happens next for them. The whole premise is very timely as well with everything going on in the world around us. I look forward to the next book in the series and more from this author.
