This was a great book, though not as exciting as I'd hoped it would be. It was more centered around the romance than adventure on the high seas. I read the second book first which prompted me to go back and read this one. All in all, the second book was a bit better than this one. The plot: French ex-pirate, now privateer, helping the Americans in the war, takes over an English ship for the crew to be traded in exchange for captured American sailors. English Captain and owner of the sieged ship, determined to get it and its crew back, decides to kidnap the daughter of the French privateer to bargain for his crew and ship. Of course love rears its head and the English captain and kidnapped daughter begin to fall for each other. A good read, good cast of characters and a great storyline.
