Resumen del Editor

Named 2021 Best Thriller by AudioBookReviewer!

A corpse on an altar. A witness who isn't talking. An ancient vow of secrecy.

It's two a.m. when County Prosecutor Peter Saul arrives at the scene of a grisly murder at St. Andrew's Church in an affluent suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Reverend Howard Jamison is covered with the victim's blood, and there's a Satanic Bible on his desk.

Attorney Hunter St. James has spent a lifetime fighting his father’s disgraceful legacy. With his career in shambles and his socialite girlfriend pregnant, St. James is assigned a pro-bono case he knows he can’t win. His atheist beliefs have not prepared him for a delusional Bible-thumping client and a subsequent crusade for truth that hurls him headlong into the dark supernatural world of the occult.

Psychologist Faith McGuire, recently divorced with a special-needs son, longs for a second chance at romance. A confluence of deadly events thrust her into the epicenter of this whirlwind thriller, threatening everything she loves.

The physical and spiritual worlds collide in this high-suspense thriller that pierces the veil of secret societies and conspiracy theories and will leave you struggling to put it down.

Shocking Crime and Even more Shocking Outcome!

A woman is found murdered on an altar, a priest is accused of murder and has a questionable background, a best friend who is so much more, an angry son, and a new romance is brewing in this twist-filled story. Michael Swiger, the author, has created a story that will keep the listener squirming and intently listening.
Swiger creatively crafts visual images that are detailed and shocking at times, but which are perfect for the story. His character development is strong and complete. Each aspect of each character is honed and true to the story. His plotline is methodically planned out and formulated to glean the best reaction out of the listener. I could not stop listening and kept listening well into the night. To Kill a Saint is not only interesting but keeps the listener riveted to the story.
The narrator, Todd A. Thompson, gives a noteworthy performance. His narration is clear, concise, and has a rhythmical flow. I know that at times it had to be hard for him to keep his rhythm steady as the action was building and becoming more intense, but Thompson kept everything flowing smoothly and gave just enough inflection to keep the listener hooked. Each character had a distinct voice and sounded just like I would expect them.
A gripping book of murder and thrills. I look forward to hearing more tales by Michael Swiger and performances by Todd A. Thompson.
