Resumen del Editor

To find the love they need, two men must overcome a world of differences.

Jeremy Ringer enjoys the important things in life: surf and sand - beach and bartending - practicing Taoism. Until a death in the family sends him across the state, and he realizes that the simple things are not enough.

Ollie Mendosa is only interested in one thing - the new police app he's developing. That is until he meets one of the crime victims, the beach-loving Jeremy Ringer. Ollie’s protective nature is brought out in full force, and he can't resist the temptation of a summer fling.

They’re drawn together in a plan to enjoy the summer, but the the heat is on when the criminals return.

A stand-alone MM romance.

Needs Work

This one did not connect with me, the story was ok but not a lot of romance. The voices for the characters did not do it for me.

Enjoyed!

Mark Reece Healey does a terrific job of bringing this story to life.
I really enjoyed Time for Love. It is full of mystery and romance. Twists and turns and plenty of sexy time. Great story!

Good

I liked this story from Lynn Michaels. I have been a fan for a long time and enjoyed this one but I do think the narrator let this one down a bit. His speech cadence was a little odd in certain places and some of the voices he chose for characters didn't fit them. I still enjoyed it and plan to read more from Ms. Michaels in the future!

Not entirely positive

⭐⭐⭐⭐
My first instinct wasn't to give this story four stars. I listened to the audiobook. The narrator's different "voices" completely took away any seriousness or heat in the book because I couldn't stand them. I had to step back and only judge it based on the writing. If I went with only the narration, it probably wouldn't get three stars.
Jeremy Ringer doesn't have a lot of goals in life as long as the beach is close by and he has a job for expenses. He practices Taoism which is constantly entered into his reactions in life. Then his aunt dies so he travels back to the town he grew up in. While cleaning out his aunt's apartment, he falls victim to a crime. In reporting the theft, he meets Ollie Mendosa. Before meeting Jeremy, the only thing he cared about was developing an app to be used by law enforcement. If I had read the book, I would have loved him because he was alpha hotness as well as darkly gorgeous. But because I listened to the audiobook, the narrator ruined his character for me. The narrator was a wonderful singer but not a very good narrator.
It was a sweet story with two men realizing that having a loving relationship might not be too bad. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

an enjoyable story

I liked this story and the main characters, Jeremy and Ollie. I went into this book without really knowing what it was about and was pleasantly surprised. The author and the narrator are both new to me and I am glad to have experienced this book.

Just ok story. Did not like the Narrator

Story 3 stars Narrartion 2.5

The story was just ok. I didn't hate it but didn't love it. I finished it due to it's short length. I just didn't find the plot that interesting. The drama part was far fetched. I didn't really feel a connection to the characters. They didn't really have that much chemistry. The cop was kind of D at times. I wouldn't recommend it.

I give the narrator a little credit simply because his reading voice was ok. He sang in all the singing parts and quite well which I found impressive and he did use different voices to tell the characters apart. Unfortunately I did not like any of those voices. They were really quite atrocious. This may have also added to my dislike of the story. He also didn't really express any emotion. My advice would be to read it and don't listen to this.

A Romance that Misses the Mark

Lynn Michaels and Mark Reece Healey are new-to-me artists. I took advantage of an opportunity to request and receive a free ARC of this audiobook. These are my voluntary opinions of it.

‘Time for Love’ disappoints me to such a degree that I struggle to find anything I like about it. The one bright spot I can come up with is Mr Healey’s singing voice. I enjoyed the few moments that call for it.

The book is a romantic suspense that doesn’t do justice to either element. Every bit of the police work is utterly implausible (if not downright impossible). The crime-predicting app is far-fetched. Ollie’s never done investigative field work, yet takes down the bad guys. The climactic scene with said bad guys is laughable. I don’t believe one second of it.

Where’s the romance here? Insta-lust? Yes. But Jeremy and Ollie don’t spend enough time together to instill any feelings of romance. They share a few sexy-times scenes that read more clinical than erotic. The rest of the time involves both men constantly ping-ponging between “I want to be with him.” and “I can’t be with him.” It’s terribly frustrating and in the end elicits only artificial angst and drama.

Characterizations are problematic as well. Ollie comes off as a jerk at times. And Jeremy’s Taoist-influenced (and frankly juvenile) inability to make decisions causes most of the wild see-sawing of the relationship. It makes for a lot of unnecessary tension.

The dialogue isn’t written in a way that people naturally speak. A lot of it is silly and cliche.

Except for the aforementioned singing, Mark Reece Healey’s narration leaves a lot to be desired. The voice he has chosen to use for Ollie is completely opposite of how it’s described in the story. I’m no expert, but Ollie’s New York accent evokes more of a speech impediment than an accent. It would have been better to not attempt the accent at all.

Not for me

Sadly, this book didn't work for me. I didn't connect with the characters (and, frankly, I found Jeremy annoying) and didn't buy their romance either.

The suspense plot was... kind of senseless, TBH. There was no real motivation for any of the bad guys' actions and there wasn't any evident reason for the change of heart of the Chief *shrugs*

But I was intrigued by the Native American guy and wouldn't mind to get to know more about him. :P

Mark Reece Healey's narration was... not bad: easy to understand, well emotional timing, and all the characters have distinctive voices but, and this is mostly a matter of taste, I didn't like any of them.

it was an okay story

I was looking forward to a detective story with Jeremy and Ollie and it wa more focused on romance in my opinion. I really liked Jeremy. Ollie, I didn't feel quite the same. It seemed weird that he was there for the police app but not to be a detective in the investigation. Anyhow the story was just ok to me.

The narrator was good at voices but it felt to me they weren't the right voices. Ollie should have had a deeper sultry voice according to the story. And Ollie's partner seemed like he was a surfer dude type. At any rate, he did okay.

overall 3 stars.
