Resumen del Editor

Lewis Carroll's sequel to Alice in Wonderland brilliantly captures a young girl's feelings about growing up in a nonsensical world. Read by internationally acclaimed comedienne and award-winning narrator Alison Larkin, this delightful, unique recording is followed by Phantasmagoria - a poem about a little ghost who finds himself haunting the wrong building.

A joy to listen to!

This is where audio shines. No way would I have enjoyed this half as much if I had just read it. Listening to it was almost music to my ears. The narration is absolutely perfect. I remember skimming this book when I was younger as well as Alice in Wonderland. It never grabbed me. It would have if I'd had this narrator to listen to.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

The perfect narrator for Lewis Carroll!

What did you love best about Through the Looking-Glass and Phantasmagoria, a Poem by Lewis Carroll (Annotated)?

Alison Larkin's narration is always great - here it's nothing short of brilliant. She finds just the right voice for each character and her characterizations are always original and interesting and often very funny. I loved Phantasmagoria which is so different and interesting. Combined it's just such a treat. I played it to my kids who loved it too.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Through the Looking-Glass and Phantasmagoria, a Poem by Lewis Carroll (Annotated)?

We cracked up at the scene where Alice talks to Humpty Dumpty who sounds like we imagined he would if he were real. I also really loved Phantasmagoria, the half hour ghost story at the end.

What does Alison Larkin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Listening to an Alison Larkin recording is like going to the theater and immersing yourself in the world of the books she narrates. Unlike some narrators she doesn't 'do' voices, she becomes the characters, so you feel like you're really there. Her main narration voice is always so easy to listen to and the characters are all SO GOOD. She's the perfect narrator for this.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A great classic brought to life
