Resumen del Editor

What do you get when you cross a snarky vampire, a feral werewolf, and an Aztec god?

Two years have passed since John the vampire did the impossible and returned from the edge of oblivion, and he didn’t even get a novelty T-shirt for his troubles. You know the ones: "I went to Sheol, and all I got was this stupid shirt". Now, our “hero”, Warden Broadway, and Ludvig the Hunter are finally ready to carry out their mission of eliminating all warlocks on Earth - which was tasked to them by Hecate herself.

Locke descends into the political nightmare that is the High Council and discovers there is more than meets the eye with the Elders. What could possibly be more important than preventing the apocalypse?!

Depweg takes a much needed vacay in Faerie where he learns to be at peace with the raging monster inside his mind. That is, until his R&R is cut short by new orders that’ll send him into a war zone. Neat!

And most importantly, John continues his quest of replacing his prized collection of Battlefield Earth cups.

Those Wonderful Toys returns to the fast-paced, oftentimes comical style of action that makes John the lovable antihero that he is. Cake and puppies for all.

The cake is a lie, and you can rescue your own Lilith - damn puppy.

If you like Jim Butcher, Shayne Silvers, Cameron O’Connell, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K. F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the highly addictive Preternatural Chronicles.

11hr and 13 minutes went by too fast!!

Love the characters and the easter egg references that Hunter Blain peppers throughout the story, and of course the way Luke Daniels brings life to our favorite vampire! I can't imagine any other voice for John - kind of like no one else could do Dresden the way James Marsters does. John is the anti-hero the same way Deadpool is... both are kind of merks with snark, a heart, and all! The story was great, and I can't wait for the next book!! But somehow the 11+ hours went by too quickly.

Once again, action and laughter

Fast moving action with snippets of hilarity. Never a dull moment, which I am grateful for.

John Freaking On!!

Another soiled entry into the John-A-Verse by Mr Blain. I’m not 100 % sure where the series will ultimately end up going, but I’ve definitely got a feeling it’s barreling towards its final destination… where ever that is??? I look forward to seeing to seeing what kind of twists & turns it takes & where we end up at the end.

Fantastic sequel

If you like goofy urban fantasy humor and epic battles between good versus evil then this is the perfect series for you. John Cook's story is also revealed by the writer to be far more personal than we ever let on. I was touched by the tribute and am looking forward to the next installment. The narration, as always, is one of the major reasons to enjoy these books. The comedic timing and quips are fantastic.

Amazing

Once again the awesome Luke Daniels delivers I love reading Hunter Blain's books first before hearing the audiobook. I know what's coming but the shear brilliance of Luke Daniels brings something new every time. I find myself laughing louder and cringing more. Love it. Can't wait for the next installment.

Remember when John was a vampire?

“It was partly due to how boring it was to be just so fekkken badA that barely anything could hurt us.”
Truer words. It’s like even the author knows he’s written himself into a Mary Sue corner.

How long has it been since John was a vampire who needed to drink blood and hide from the sun?
How many books has it been with John, Ludvig and Haylie fighting blah, blah bland baddies?
This isn’t a book about a vampire anymore; this is now nothing more than Deadpool-fanfic from an author stuck on 80s pop culture references. Oh, and a few minutes dropping breadcrumbs about angels moving behind the scenes towards a showdown still many books away.
I should have stopped long before this book.
