A Story of Survival on a Devastated Planet

The world ended on June 1st, 2100. Population had spiraled out of control and world tensions grew until on that fateful day, humanity unleashed its entire nuclear arsenal upon itself. In Earth’s orbit, a consortium of Earth’s best scientists watched the destruction in horror. Believing that all life on the surface had been extinguished, they abandoned the planet and sent out their vast starships to search for a new home for humanity. They did not abandon the Earth out of malice, they truly believed that everyone on the planet had perished. While their fears were understandable, they were not entirely correct. Here and there pockets of humanity had survived. This is the story of Those Left Behind.
