Too short. There was very little history or deep knowledge of the past 6 years.

Not what I expected

The beginning was good, but when they got to the establishment of AEW, it was basically just a rehash of their storylines. There is absolutely no side stories or deep dives into any controversies (ie: Brawl Out, Cody’s exit, Thunder Rosa).

Good book for wrestling history but…..

if you even have a bit of knowledge of AEW's history this book has nothing new to teach you. Way too short, excludes a lot of important things, and just sort of zooms through the history. I love AEW but there's no point in buying this

no point to this

A collection of selective touchpoints in AEW’s chronological events and storylines, supplemented by self-congratulatory quotes about Tony Khan and the company’s self-perceived progressivism. I don’t know who the target audience of this book is. You’re required to have intermediate knowledge of AEW and independent wrestling to understand the concepts, yet it doesn’t dive deeper on any story beyond acknowledging it happened and offering cursory quotes congratulating Tony Khan and AEW.
The book largely gets matches and dates correct, but fails to give more than surface-level context, backstory, or say anything new. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are acknowledged, but the book ignores their controversial departures except for a passing mention. I didn’t have high hopes for a book partially written by AEW themselves, but this misses the mark on every level.
Someday a book will be written about the booking decisions, controversies, and authentic backstage perspective of AEW, but this isn’t it. Even a book simply highlighting their best matches and main events would’ve been better. The only highlight was some small anecdotes retold about Sting’s retirement match.
I can’t recommend this book to anyone who’s been following AEW’s history in real time. It’s not for longtime fans or new fans. It’s just content.

Who is this for?
