Lena Joi Timmons is an ambitious and beautiful African American Psychiatrist who seemingly has it all. She comes from a successful and loving family, is well-educated, and is seemingly satisfied with her personal and professional status. However, behind the outward "picture perfect" persona is a woman who is broken and battered. Her childhood wounds never healed. A college romance nearly ripped her apart. An adult fairytale love story unfolds into a sick game of lies, deceit, and despair.

As she fights to regain her "sense of self", Lena narrates a harrowing and unbelievable tale revealing how she navigates the extreme highs and disparaging lows of mental, emotional, and physical trauma.

Kept me guessing on what next

A good story. Full of twists and turns. Definitely could not guess what would happen next. Grateful to read and feel the wholeness of good friendships and families working through generational trauma.
