It was a scientific theory, that’s all it was. It was just one theory among several more logical theories. So then, why did this theory catch the attention of millions? Why do ‘wacko’ notions or web videos grab the attention of the masses when so many brilliant ideas seem to take a back seat? Instant gratification, the desire to ‘chill out’ watching and sharing something a bit bazaar, funny, or just plan weird to put the everyday grind behind us seems to spawn ‘viral’ sharing across all borders and continents. So then, it wasn’t all that hard to place Tory Maxton, an ex-marine and aspiring weather scientist, in the awkward position of being tagged as the latest international ‘nutcase’ for suggesting that even though the world is experiencing climate change he had detected that our oceans are actually receding rather than rising. But, if Tory were just another ‘nut job,’ why would his rather comfortable life become threatened? Why would he be chased across several continents?
