Twenty years ago the next global pandemic struck and the world wasn't at all prepared to deal with it. The virus overtook mankind, leaving in its wake a higher population of the infected rather than the healthy. Governments and economies collapsed and borders were closed. Every country around the world decided independently on just how they were going to attempt to deal with the virus, and the infected.

Some smaller countries fell victim entirely while others experimented in their labs to try and find a cure. All the while creating laws surrounding the infected ones that were far too ridiculous to follow, or to work. And then, the bombs fell.

Seventeen years later and the only humans left roaming the lands were the infected, along with small groups of survivors. Primarily gangs, they sought only to rob and kill the few innocent people that were left trying to survive on their own.

Kirk, a nomad, had decided three years ago that remaining on dry land was no longer an option for him, as it had become simply too dangerous. He made the decision to set sail and seek refuge, living what life he had left on the open ocean.

However, he was soon to discover even that wasn't safe.

This is a super exciting and entertaining horror story! Zombies are not my favorite, but when the story is amazing, anything goes!
This book is a survival story with infected people and a great twist to the zombie world. There’s a virus that’s infecting people and is highly contagious.
The story follows Kirk and his adventures to survive. He spends a lot of time on a boat to avoid the infected on land. During this time, he encounters lots of different types of people. 🏴‍☠️ This story is filled with gore, surprises and terror!

Every book I’ve read from David Wilson has been an easy 5🌟’s! He’s a fantastic writer and I can’t wait to finish reading all of his books!
I listened to the audio version and the narrator did an excellent job. It was a very fun listen!

The narrator was awesome.

I enjoyed this horror story mixed with some bits of humor. I loved Kirk and want to see him survive and help the others that he met at the end to come up with a cure. He’s been sailing for far too long trying to survive the zombies. He has survived the crazy scientist siblings, the undead, pirates and more. I just saw there are at least two more books I’ll Have to add to my TBR list.
