Beni, a town and territory in the Ruwenzori region of northern DR Congo, has been living in terror and horror since 2014: civilian populations kidnapped, tied up before being massacred with axes and machetes. This book brings to the consciousness of humanity a little-known history of terrorism: the ADF Islamists. The terrorism of the Islamists ADF, as experienced and described here, makes it possible to develop more realistic and objective criteria in order to apprehend, at different levels of responsibility, what deserves blame or praise within the defense and security services of the DR Congo and MONUSCO (United Nations). The great merit of this book, the first written by a Congolese journalist who has proven himself in investigation, is to touch and revisit the art of war in the transformations it imposes today, in the face of geopolitical and geostrategic issues.

Born on 5 January 1959 in Vanga in the province of Kwilu (DRC), Nicaise Kibel'bel Oka is one of the few investigative journalists in DR Congo. Director of the French-language bimonthly Les Coulisses, he also directs the Centre d'Etudes et Recherches géopolitiques de l'est du Congo (C.E.R.G.E.C.), which specialises in geopolitical and geostrategic research in the African Great Lakes region. He is the winner of the Black Toga Awards (DRC in 1994), the Abraham Prize for Nature Conservation (USA 2006), the 2009 African Press Freedom Award from CNN and was proclaimed one of the 100 World News Heroes in 2014 by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
