This cozy mystery has a bit of it all: an amateur sleuth with a special gift, a trained dog, and a budding romance surrounded by a cast of eccentric Hollywood types. D.A.E. Jackson gives you a 1920s cozy with a different kind of main character. He’s young, gay, and almost famous--and he’ll be lucky to come out of this with a career, let alone as a free man.

Love the story!

Loved the story but the virtual narrator is horrible. Why? So you can replace a human with feeling?

What stood out to me for this novel was the concept of a gay cozy mystery set around 1920s Hollywood. That combination was music to my ears, so I decided to give the virtual voice thing a try. I did have to re-listen to certain sections to make sure I understood who was saying what, since the virtual voice didn't distinguish between characters, but honestly I would listen to this virtual voice over some certain narrators who I just can't bring myself to listen to. The fun concept is great, and this introduction to the series sets the stage well. I hope the author involves Bo-Bo more in future installments. I'll be checking out the second book next!
