Title tells it all

Until you read/listen to this book, you don’t have a clue to what the people went through during the Dust Bowl. This is not an uplifting message, but one that needs to be heard. A very painful time in American history.

History of USA in gloom

Fascinating history and how Americans took over and ruined parts of North America and its people. A fine study of what not to do, how to preserve land and its resources and how to be stewards of a land we share with the future.

I knew nothing about.....

Until this book was recommended to me, I can say I knew next to nothing about the dust bowl. It was so difficult to imagine what people there went through. The death of so many surprised me. I also realized what a learning experience it was for those to realize how to prevent this form happening again.

History worth remembering

Beautifully read. Most of us have heard about the Dust Bowl but never the deep, personal accounts of the individuals that suffered through this ecological disaster. Definitely worth a read.

Excellent story telling!

The narrator is probably the best out of all the books. I’ve listened to (that as many!). The book was well written and easy to follow along because of the excellent storytelling. I learned a lot about an area of the country where which I was born. Learned a lot about history, period. Highly recommend!
