Located along the southernmost border of the theocratic nation of Cemaria, Mercy Wells lived in the farming village of New Vernon.
Centuries prior, there had been erected a towering barricade along the border simply called “The Wall” as protection from the dangers that lay beyond. One day, a chance encounter with a boy named David who lived on the southern side leaves Mercy questioning everything she had ever been taught about the history of her people, the wall, and why it was built in the first place.
From the moment Mercy meets David at the wall, listeners are swept along on Mercy’s quest for the truth and her endeavor to help her friend on his path to freedom. This is a timeless story about developing friendships in spite of impossible barriers and doing the right thing even at great personal risk.
