Bad things happen in Britannia, someday to be England, if it survives. The evil is too long in place, too serious, and the simple law of the land, and the outrage of the Romans are not enough to solve the problem.
It takes a special Hunter, someone so close to the line that he can reach out and touch evil… and walk away.
Leofwine Dark Hunter is that kind of man. He soon has help he does not yet understand, but he is willing to step up. In fact, has stepped up, but he is a mere pinpoint in the bucket of evil.
In this early era of old Britannia, not even love will break the odd bonds in his
world. But there is room in the human heart for love, anger and despair. It is a conundrum.
