Resumen del Editor

From David F. Gray, author of Gamble’s Run, comes The Vegas Rift – an epic blend of science fiction, fantasy, and cosmic horror.

When Sam Carr becomes separated from his younger brother Doug during a trip to Las Vegas, he finds himself drawn into a world of unimaginable horrors. Through The Vegas Rift, Sam is taken to The Paradise, a sinister, Vegas-style hotel harboring dark secrets. Who is really running things behind the scenes? Will Sam reach Doug before it’s too late? Will they ever return to the world they left behind?

Sci fi + fantasy + humor + horror = WILD RIDE

This is one of the craziest, wildest, off-beat, original books I've read in a very long time. This is the first book I've read by David Gray, but it won't be the last. I may need a few days to recover before I grab the next one though because I'm not completely sure what just happened!
Congrats, David, on choosing an incredible narrator (Michael Brusasco) to tell your epic tale as it deserves to be told. (Michael, you are fabulous.)
I struggle to describe this book because it's so unlike anything I've ever read and, frankly, I cannot imagine what it's like to live in David's head that he can write things like this. It's almost as if he had a crazy dream one night which incorporated bits and pieces from The Gods Themselves, the Matrix, The Island of Dr. Moreau, Star Trek, Children of Time, The Invisible Man, The Forgotten, and many, many more... and wove them into an entirely original story with a little wacky humor. There were many times while reading this book that I wondered, "How in the world did he come up with this twist??"
If you read only biographies and non-fiction, just leave this book here for those of us that have imagination enough to handle this tale. If you enjoy having your mind blown and think you can keep up, I double-dare you to try.
I was provided this amazing epic tale in exchange for an honest review.... and I'm so fortunate they picked me to read it.

3.5 rounded up to 4

I literally listened to this on a plane going to Vegas, and then a plane leaving Vegas. I was pumped about a book themed the same as my vacay.
the first part of the story was very Vegas, then it got weird. or maybe I should say super Scifi like. more scyfy than horror anyways. there's nothing wrong with the story, it just wasn't my typical read. I did enjoy the humorous parts of the story

Wild Fantasy Epic with Lovecraftian Undertones

I enjoyed this book. It is quite long, but it held my attention throughout. Its a little bit science fiction, a lot of fantasy along with a good dose of creeping horror from the stars. It starts off with an almost Stephen King's "The Body" feel and soon you are not in Castle Rock anymore. It is a wild ride with dragons, cultural references, Las Vegas, mutations of all sorts and ends up fairly wrapped up with room for a sequel.
Very well narrated by Michael Brusasco. He does a good job voicing a variety of characters both human and non.
I was given this free audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
