Acerca de esta escucha
Bernhard W Anderson (1916-2007) was emeritus professor of Old Testament Theology at the Princeton Theological Seminary. In The Unfolding Drama of the Bible, he describes the Biblical message as a drama in three acts, bookended by a prologue and an epilogue.
The prologue deals with creation, the first act which he calls: “The formation of God's people”, deals with the exodus from Egypt, the Covenant, the people's disobedience, decay and injustice. The second act: “The reformation of God's people” examines the captivity and the return from exile in Babylon.
Ezra and Nehemiah have a prominent role, observance of the Law and religious rituals are emphasized. The third act, called “The transformation of God's people” traces the development of a traditional nation into the Christian community of saints and religious people all around the globe. The Acts of the Apostles tell the story of the rise and expansion of the Church.
