In a pedestrian crosswalk on a quiet tree-lined street, Naseem is hit and then run over three times. Onlookers yell for the driver to stop as she hears her fate in her husband’s screams. Is he watching the mother of his children die?

Miraculously, she survives, yet she is no longer the person she worked so hard to be. Her “cracks”—the changes to her body and mind—initially feel impossible to accept. In learning to embrace this new, unrecognizable self, Naseem decides to celebrate the day she almost lost her life as the day she discovered her true strength—her Unbreakable Day.

In this unique memoir, equal parts heart wrenching and inspiring, Naseem lays bare the reality of personal trauma—and how we each have the power to reimagine our lives and find beauty in being both broken and unbreakable.

Uplifting

Very little original insight, just the same stuff we’ve heard countless times before. She manages to make it about race. Claiming she suffered from people telling her she’d be better if she was white, that it was hard for her living in a white man’s world. Give us a break lady, I can’t take her serious, look at her, she’s gonna be considered white by 90% of people. But being a liberal progressive she brings up her supposedly being a poc several times through the book, it has nothing to do with the actual story of being run over and finding blessings and strength in that. She’s an arrogant braggy woman, boasting about her power in her career and her 5 inch power heels and i guess her attempt at being humble and insightful tells us ‘I realized letting people drive me around and make meals for me and my family was a favor to them.’ Well that’s an arrogant shallow way to say ‘accept help when you need it’ and surmise that others aren’t as self centered as she is and actually get something positive out of helping others. Definitely not worth a credit or purchase or the time.

Sanctimonious egoism

I found this story to be very relatable, minus the personal tragedy of being run over by a car 5 times. It was easy for me to relate to the author and her desire to have it all (successful career, healthy marriage, be a focused and present mother and daughter) and be the one to manage everything for everyone. Her struggle to be ok and normal and worry about everyone else would be my reaction as well. The lessons she learned and shared through her trauma were meaningful to even those who can’t imagine her experience. I was most impressed with her personal reliance and ability to forgive. I loved that she read the story and my emotions were real and raw during the entire story. Definitely recommend.

Such an Inspiring story

The book is honest and raw. The writer doesn’t shy away from sharing the difficult parts of her story. It’s a story of self resiliency, love, family and hope. I thoroughly enjoyed the book!

Honest and Insperational

A true story of tragedy, strength , forgiveness, courage, grace and love. A lot of life lessons for us all and an honor to hear Naseem share in her own voice through Audible’s narrated version.
