Mark's interest in Key West and the Florida Keys grew from hearing stories from his dad about his own childhood experiences in South Florida. His uncle lived in Homestead and would take him on fishing trips in the Keys where they would catch Tarpon and other fish of the islands. His dad painted a picture of a lush tropical group of islands that very different from his rural Georgia home and were covered in tall coconut palms surrounded by crystal clear waters. This led to Mark and his wife's first trip to Key West back in January 1999, and he was hooked for life. This book came about out of Mark's love for the Florida Keys and he hopes that you'll plan your own adventure there and discover its many treasures.
