Scary

Gripping and frightening - nothing is quite as it seems when the boyfriend acts like a trophy.

Very interesting

I thought this was a good listen, with great facts, very informative. It is short but very good. I have always love true crime the best and try to get my hands on as many as I can. Being short sometimes there are things left out but not in this case at all. I thought the author did a wonderful job replaying the facts, giving you everything you need to know without a lot of usefulness information. I really enjoyed this audio.

The narrator did a good job, she really brought the characters to life, so many times in true crime audio the narrator is dry, unmoving, They sound like they are just reading but not this narrator she wasn't dry at all, but did show some emotion, just enough to pull the listener in, giving a good listen. There were no repeating of words, no volume changes, this book called for no character voices, so not sure how she does in that area. What she gives you in a clean clear audio that pulls you in, taking you to a day when one woman disappeared and the man who killed her.

I really liked how the author laid this out, giving you the facts without making them boring. He and the narrator gives an interesting listen that you enjoy.

No Marriage, No-Good Man, and Certainly No Prize

This short listen is the story of the murder of Jamie Laiaddee on St. Patrick's Day in 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona. A beautiful young woman of Thai descent, Jamie went to the University of Michigan and was a medical supplies salesman. As the years went on, most of her college friends, one by one, were getting married, and she went to each and every wedding, no matter how far away. Jamie's parents, who moved from Thailand to California in search of a better life for their family, pushed Jamie to go to medical school, as her sister had done . . . put Jamie pushed back . . . and after graduating from the University of Michigan moved to Arizona and became more private, except for her close relationship with her college girlfriends. When she met handsome Bryan Stewart at a University of Michigan alumni meeting, there was an immediate attraction. They were soon dating and he moved in with her. For all of her beauty and brains, she ignored all the warning signs that he was a con man. Listen to this sad and informative audio to get the details on what happened to Jamie Laiadee and how her boyfriend (Trophy Wife) was eventually brought to justice for her murder. 😭

Tragic story but terribly writing

Truly a sad story. The narrator was fine kind of like a cheerful flight attendant reading the safety instructions with rehearsed inflection points and a cheerful vacant look in her eyes - that’s the narrator’s vibe. The story tells itself but the drawn out dialogue and narrative adds an excruciating level of hyperbole. If you liked movies on Lifetime channel during the 90s, this ones for you.
