This almost reads as if it was written by someone else.
The characters are weak and poorly developed.
There is never a true “sense of place”established (despite the exotic locations) and the story is 2D and lacking any real feeling of suspense or mystery.
It’s silly, improbable, and worst of all, it’s not entertaining in the least.
These five characters are never fully realized and that ruins the entire story.
I love this author (The Wild Girls was extraordinary) but this book left me scratching my head wondering who wrote it.
The narration is great but could not save this one.
