It recounts his return to Jamaica growing up to adulthood and attending college in the United States, overcoming all manner of hardships. It is a story of determination and triumph over adversity interwoven with amusing anecdotes on a wide range of subjects, from mento ska and reggae music to Jamaican food and family life.
