Fun alternate history

The story was fun and exciting, although not entirely unpredictable. Historical facts and context seem well researched and the author does a good job of joining true historical context with the fictional alternative.

Interesting alternate history

I have read all of Mr. Rosenberg's previous mystery books and absolutely loved them (please write more!!). While this was a bit of a change from his typical style of writing, I do like a good alternate history book now and then. This did not disappoint. I thought it would be a bit boring with it being from the 1700's but Rosenberg made it really fun. It also made you think about how things really were back then, from both sides of the situation.

A damn stupid book

Either irritating or forgettable. I can't decide. I am embarrassed frankly that I thought this could be interesting.
