Refreshing

Enjoyed this book. It was a clever blend of everyday Washington boring in the beginning with a surprise twist of science fiction. I can’t wait for the next one! I enjoyed this book and could not stop listening to it till I was finished.

Needs to be dramatized audio

This needs to be made as unabridged full cast audio drama. They synopsis gives adequate overview, no spoilers from me.

irritating performance & good story

First of all, the performer seem to give the same Breathless emphasis to every word he spoke. I found that very distracting! the story was pretty good but but obviously led to another book in the series.

The characters feel real

Overall I really liked this work. About an hour and a half in it stalls a little but picks up again. I like how the characters feel human, they have depth, needs, hopes and dreams as well as secrets and personal troubles.
Reuben Jackson the main character for the earth is likable and charming.
For the others, they are interesting and to see who they are slowly revealed is enjoyable, many characters are not quite who they seem.
