When the team returned from Deetmar, everything seemed too tame and Celia suggested a holiday. They used the dart in the globe method to find out where to go and ended up at what was considered a played out mine in Australia. The miner was there and drunk when they crept in to get to the spot the dart landed in their estimation. They met his son Alfie and as his son did not see many people when he was out of school they became friends. When Simon found a diamond with his diamond detector things changed at the mine dramatically. When they had completed their mission they went on holiday and took Alfie with them. When they returned to England the grammar school boys ended up going to the comprehensive run by Candler. It the end they decided that they had to do something about it.
